The New York State Community Schools Network (NYS CSN) first convened in 2014 through the leadership of the Coalition for Community Schools. Since 2015, the NYS CSN has hosted annual advocacy days in Albany (or virtually during the pandemic) to share the importance of the community schools strategy with decision-makers. Advocacy of the NYS CSN has led to the funding of Community Schools Technical Assistance Centers across the state as well as growth of the community schools strategy statewide.
The New York State Network for Youth Success, a 501(c)3 nonprofit and statewide afterschool network for New York, has served as the backbone organization of the NYS CSN since 2019.
